Major Try- Out and Minor Evaluation Information
Try-outs (yes a true try-out) for Dyer Little League’s Major Division are scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the South Suburban Training Center in Crete, IL. Ages 11-12 begin at 10:30 a.m. and ages 9-10 begin at 12:30 p.m. All players age 10 through 12 are required to try out to be eligible for a Major Division team.
Evaluations for the “B” and “C” Minor Divisions are scheduled for Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the South Suburban Training Center in Crete, IL. “B” Division players begin at 10:30 a.m. and “C” Division players begin at 12:30 p.m.
Interested 9 year olds are also eligible to try out for the Major Division. While this try out is a Little League requirement to be eligible for a state tournament team, a player should not try out unless they are willing to be selected onto a Major Division team. Trying out for the sole purpose of being all-star eligible is not in the best spirit of Little League.
All Players age 9-12 will be eligible for the local Tournament of Champions teams regardless of this try-out. (Note: Players must wear gym shoes for their try-out. Spikes will not be permitted in the field house.)

Fees due at registration are as follows:
Registration fees: $100.00 for Majors, B's and C's (maximum family registration $260.00)
Registration fee: $60.00 for T-Ball
Concession stand pre-pay fee: $50.00 (refundable upon completion of an assigned shift in the concession stand)
Candy Fundraiser: $104.00 per child (up to 3 children) Or $55.00 per child (family max of $137.50)
Note: Fees have remained the same as the 2009 season!
Eligibility:
Eligible children must be ages 5 through 12 years old by April 30, 2010 and must live within the Dyer Little League boundaries. The DLL boundaries are: Main Street (north), 93rd Ave. (south), US41 (east), and the Indiana/Illinois state line (west). There are NO exceptions to either of these requirements!
All new registrants are required to bring an original birth certificate and two proofs of residency. A parent's driver's license, voters registration card, homeowner/tenant records, school records, an insurance or medical card, or a utility bill are all acceptable proofs of residence. Due to Little League International guidelines, we will be unable to register any new players without this information.
Additionally, sign-ups for managers, coaches, sponsors, umpires, and boosters will take place at this time. We encourage you to consider volunteering for these positions as it is the driving catalyst of what makes our league run.
